TMI: Asking Deep Questions About Clothes During Pisces Season

It’s Pisces season in the astrological calendar and I am all in my feelings. As a fellow fish, this time of year feels so me. Along with getting excited for my near birthday, I tend to think deeply about the things I care about.

Those who know me know that if I care about something, I care very much thank you and you and you and you, you, you. The reverse is true, too. I can easily write things off if I’m not into it. See: lack of personal cooking skills, boredom for the everyday man “cringe” comedy genre, and mustering enough fu@&s to wear shorts. Just not my jam.

If my recent Sephora Astrological #LipStories purchase reinforced anything in me – not an ad, I’m just a sucker for 12 signs merchandise – as a Pisces I am likely to be, “Imaginative, artistic, and compassionate.” Well, thank you, giant makeup corporation. I like to think those traits sound a bit like me. Based on what I’m going to share next, it’s A LOT like me.

In this ultra-busy world, in this unprecedented time, a lot of us have be evaluating (and re-evaluating) our choices. Should your personal style be one of those such deep fodder topics, yippee, because the following prompts are what keeps me up at night and gets me going first thing when I wake up. Jump in the water with me?

Starting off easy

How do you currently arrange your clothes in your space?

How much do you spend on clothes in a month? Year? Should you have partnership and / or family, how does that compare to your spouse or dependants?

What is your typical getting ready process like for picking out clothing?

Getting deeper

Which colours or cuts or styles do you like to wear? Are there any items you avoid?

Whose style do you love? Is it a person, celebrity, or character?

Whose style icks you out? (This is for reference only. Let’s not be bullies, shall we?)

Are you wearing the style of clothing you like? If not, why not?

What can’t you wait to wear once the pandemic restrictions are reduced? (Can I come, too?)

So existential this little fish is off the deep end…

Is your mood affected by what you wear? Think about a fond memory. After that, can you remember a time when you felt low wearing something?

Who do you dress for? Why do you think that is?

Do your values influence what you choose to buy or wear? Some examples include: sustainability considerations; where the garment is made and by whom; diversity (or lack thereof) of brand ownership and leadership; use or non-use of animal products; brand reputation and practices…

When you look at your closet what do you see? How do you feel?

What do you think your clothes say when total strangers see you? Does that fill you up with assurance or trigger something else?

If I could wave a magic wand, what would it take to start dressing the way you want right now?

A lot to think about, non?

Feeling like a fish out of water with all of these deep questions about such a *simple* thing as clothes? Take comfort, fashion fishy friends. This is as close as you’ll ever understand to the continual self-inflicted and manifested head games of a Pisces. We’re all just trying to figure something out.
