It’s a bit surreal to see the city you live in on the national stage in the media. Perhaps it's my small town upbringing flaring up again. This past week, Calgary was the musical darling of the country as it hosted the 2016 Juno Canadian Music Awards. Musicians, artists, celebrities, and fans alike flooded to our city to take in the festivities.

Can you have a style crush on someone’s if you don’t like their style? Can you be a fan even though it’s not all that good? Further, can you celebrate someone who dressed a bit lazy? The answer is yes. I asked myself these questions after this weekend’s Juno Awards. After seeing Alanis Morissette perform, I spent time reminiscing.
