CFDA 2018: Recapping The Best of the Night Amidst Loss
Each year the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) gathers the best and brightest together to celebrate the year. Cue Naomi Campbell, Kim Kardashian West, and Ralph Lauren. Fashion darlings made their way to Brooklyn Museum, NY for the festivities Monday night.
CFDA: Why It’s So Much More than Fashion Awards
Every year, the CFDA Awards honours the best of brightest of the fashion industry. Outside of the awards for the designers, they highlight stand out people outside of the immediate fashion community. This year, 3 Board of Directors’ Tribute awards were given to Planned Parenthood’s Cecile Richards; the inimitable powerhouse Gloria Steinem; and musician and actor, Janelle Monáe.
What Makes a Style Icon? Beyonce's Win at the CFDA Awards
Last week the 2016 Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Fashion Awards took over New York City. The CFDA recognizes excellence in multiple categories including accessories, creative vision, journalism, menswear, womenswear and lifetime achievement. The complete list of 2016 nominees and winners are here. The most popular award for mainstream culture is likely the Fashion Icon Award.
