Come Shop at Dress For Success Semi-Annual Sale
Ladies, gents, folks, non-binary, and cute fashion squirrels. I’ve got news for you. It’s time to open your wallets and hearts and get shopping. This weekend, Dress For Success Calgary is selling non-corporate women wear to the public for a fraction of what even the thrift stores would sell it for.
I’m getting ahead of myself, I know, but I didn’t want to bury the oooey gooey lead: shopping on a discount benefitting this female empowering charity is so hot right now.
Let’s back up. The charity I volunteer with, Dress for Success, hosts a sale twice a year. The purpose of the event is to sell off clothing, jackets, shoes, accessories, and jewelry that is absolutely fabulous, but not the right dress code tone for a corporate interview that the client wold receive on their appointments. As donations come from all over and include all genres of clothes the variety is magnificent.
This sale helps the organization in three major ways:
past clients and community members can come a shop for discounted prices;
all the proceeds – every ding dang dollar – goes back into the organization to ensure the lights stay on; and
the organization creates much needed physical space in our back storage for future donations for the women we serve.
If that doesn’t get you going, the fashion sure will.
I’m talking Italian leather. I’m talking evening gowns. Beaded, floor length, sometimes in velvet feeling very much extravaganza-worthy. I’ve seen fur – faux too – waltz out the door on a deliriously happy customer.
For those girls next door out there, please know it’s not all dressed to the nine’s glam. There are everyday things too. Jeans, shirts, cozy sweaters, and mini bags galore, are just a few items up for grabs. There are cute shoes, boots, and sandals excitedly waiting for your tootsies.
All shoppers are welcome as anyone who is in the know knows that fantastic style has no age limit. We’ve got things for the more serious all the way to the young at heart.
Do you need a dress for your sickening turn on the glitzy drag stage? I’ve got you.
Are you growing out of your clothes because of that baby growing inside of you? Congratulations on the little one. Come by and see what could get you through. I’ve got you two, too.
You may want to shop for a loved one. That’s so kind. Come on by.
The address is 1008 14 ST SE. Please enter through the red door located on the north side of the building. Signs are posted on the door. Call me if you’re lost or need some help.
I say let’s all get gorgeous while giving back this Saturday. See you there? Now I’ve got to go. I’m furiously making room in all my closets for the goodies.
