It’s been a hard go. But like most hard things, it’e getting better with time. My spirits keep rising as more and more folks are eligible to get their vaccines. And guess what, it’s my turn. My a-type personality has proven helpful in many ways. I can colour sort three racks of clothing with oodles of garments faster than I can make a grilled cheese. My template building skills should warrant another side hustle. And former roommates have told me after living with me at first it’s a bit like living in a beautiful prison, but all of the order and systems and organizing start to feel like home after a while.

I identify as a bit of a paradox: I like order and logic and often times that leads to a great policy or recommendation. On the other hand, if it’s BS after asking why it exists and the owner can’t explain it to my liking, I’m not much of a rule for rules sake person. What rules?

As I wrap up working as a costumer on a TV show – I started working in January, pandemic paused from mid-March through July, and we just finished filming last week - it’s hard not to get nostalgic. Ten months of time for a four months of work project is a lot. It’s bittersweet: I’m relieved to be done and healthy yet a trifling bit sad to say goodbye.
