Las Vegas is the city of a million options: shopping, gambling, watching, hustling, eating, sport fanning, and sun tanning. Even though I’ve been a bunch of times, each time is something different. On my most recent trip I decided to try out some summer outfits. A sort of dress rehearsal for outfit combinations to come.

In the aftermath of the ruthless terrorist attack on Las Vegas festival fans, it still may be hard to process it. I’m still shook. Las Vegas is a beloved weekend away for me for many years. Las Vegas is fun and carefree. At least it used to be.

My annual – and sometimes more than annual – trip to Las Vegas was fast approaching on my calendar. That meant that I was checking the weather for the pool scene more times than my emails. Bad work ethic, perhaps, but I had the itch to get some of that desert summer sun.As I started to think about what to pack in my carry on, I got FOMO in the ways I could approach it

Maybe it’s because I was on vacation. Maybe it’s because it’s been so very cold in Calgary. Or maybe it’s because it’s Las Vegas and most things seem better there. No matter the various contributing factors I think I’ve had a style epiphany. Here’s my latest hypothesis: I think 17 degrees Celsius is the most stylish temperature to get dressed in. 

On my most recent trip to Las Vegas something stood out to me in a way I had never noticed before. This is a city that can be described as the best and the worst of western, specifically American, culture. Anything goes. It is the least judgmental place I’ve been. You can do almost anything here as long as you have the cash. To bring my point home, you’ve likely heard the city’s slogan, “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.”

So far I have nine Vegas Hotels and Resorts under my belt. That's nine different rooms to study the closets, nine different casinos to marvel at the interior design, decor and gamblers outfits and nine different pools. At al those pools there are many different people form all over enjoying the dessert sun and heat. Over the years, I have started to see some themes pop up. I decided not to focus so much on the pool behaviour. I was more interested in the pool attire.
